Q&A
Q. What can be appraised?
-
A. Scope, Causation, and Price.
Q. Can I go to appraisal for overhead and profit?
-
A. YES!!
Q. Can I go to appraisal if the homeowner’s claim was denied?
-
A. YES!! Causation is an appraisable issue in Texas.
Q. How does the appraisal process work?
-
A. The homeowner will choose us as their appraiser and the insurance company will then have 20 days to appoint their appraiser. From there, the two appraisers meet at the property and attempt to resolve the dispute. If they are unable to come to an agreement, they move forward to the umpire (mediator), chosen by the two appraisers. The umpire makes a final decision, and an award will be issued.
Q. When would you go to appraisal?
-
A. If supplement and/or reinspection efforts have not resolved the outstanding items on a claim, appraisal is a great option to bring that final resolution!
